Sidney Roubin

I am an economics and Hispanic studies double major! I have always been passionate about speaking and learning Spanish, but even more so, helping and inspiring other people! I am excited to help kids learn Spanish all the while encouraging them to explore the Spanish culture and practice my own Spanish skills. In the future, I hope to travel more to Spain, South America, and other Spanish speaking country to improve my Spanish and initiate change! I am so excited to meet all the kids at Davidson Elementary School! Fun Fact: I am one of the few (and very fortunate!!) people who have traveled to the amazing country of Cuba!

I am a senior Environmental Studies major and Hispanic Studies minor at Davidson. On campus, I am a member of Connor Eating House and volunteer with Davidson Refugee Support’s Nutrition team where we teach cooking classes to asylees in Charlotte. After my first year at Davidson, I was able to spend the summer studying in Havana, Cuba, where I improved my language skills and was immersed in Cuba’s fascinating culture. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with Davidson’s SiDES program and am excited to spread an appreciation for the Spanish language! Fun fact: I studied abroad in Perugia, Italy last fall, where I participated in a Food and Sustainability Studies Program!
