Asheville, NC/ Latin American Studies Major

I love spending time with friends, running, traveling, being outdoors, and going to coffee shops. I’m a senior at Davidson College majoring in Latin American Studies and am hoping to either pursue a degree in international relations or join the foreign service following graduation. After my sophomore and continuing into my junior year, I lived in Peru for 7 months for a program I coordinated through Dean Rusk and also participated in the Davidson in Peru fall study abroad program. On campus, I am a Bonner Scholar, a building manager for the senior apartments, I work at the information desk in the library, and am the media coordinator & Co-trip leader of Timmy Global Health. I am a SiDES volunteer because I think language acquisition is crucial moving forward in our world. Knowing multiple languages augments cross-cultural understanding through the interactions we have in that second language and the ability to travel to countries where said language is predominantly spoken.
